Abstract

Plasmonic imaging system have proven to allow dynamical reading of biochips allowing biomolecular interaction characterization and applications such as DNA point mutation diagnostic. Operational systems are currently based on propagating plasmons and research is presently mostly dedicated to studying and taking advantages of nano-micro-structured substrates, both theoretically and experimentally. Examples of applications are focused on genetic diagnosis of hereditary and acquired mutations, specifically cystic fibrosis and breast cancer.
