Dispersion control of propagating surface plasmons on nanoporous gold

Abstract


The nanoporous gold is prepared using the dealloying method, by varying the dealloying times to control the pore size. Scanning electron Microscopy confirms the porous structure. Reflection measurements in the Kretchmann configuration (prism coupling) are used to determine the dispersion relation of the surface plasmon on nanoporous gold/air interface. This is compared with the Bruggeman effective medium theory
