Metaglass as a Non-local Effective Medium
Last modified: 2012-01-04
Abstract
We show that a 2D metaglass made of gold nanodisks on a SiOx substrate exhibits nonlocal behavior as an effective medium. Specifically, our ellipsometric studies indicate a pronounced shift of the fundamental resonance peak as a function of the angle of incidence, even though the fully random metaglass exhibits no structural features commensurable with the resonance wavelength.
