A study on the optical properties of Ti3O5 for reversible one-dimensional photonic crystals

Abstract


We have investigated the optical properties of titanium oxide (Ti3O5) for reversible one-dimensional (1D) photonic crystals (PCs). 1D PCs fabricated by multilayer consisting of 5-pair using sputtering technique from a Ti3Ox and SiO2 target with the different refractive index. The fabricated samples were annealed in an Ar atmosphere for 60min at various temperatures. The structural properties of Ti3O5 with crystalline to crystalline transition have been carried out through the X-ray diffraction (XRD). After exposure to laser, the optical properties of samples is being conducted and analyzed by Fourier transform infra-red spectroscopy (FTIR) and UV-vis spectrophotometer. In this study, designed 1D PCs utilizing Ti3O5 with crystalline to crystalline transition would have wide application in reversible optical devices.
