Abstract

Coherent perfect absorption (CPA) using a colloidal gold film is studied when the structure is illuminated using plane waves from either side at oblique incidence. Using standard tranfer matrix approach, we show that the CPA dip can be tuned over the visible range of the spectrum by appropriately tuning the system paramters. Furthermore, the dependence of various system parameters on CPA has been studied and it is shown that a critical minimum value of absorption is needed for observing CPA.
