From localized to long-range plasmons in metallic nano-platelets

Abstract
Using energy-filtered transmission electron microscopy, plasmonic resonances of Aunano-platelets over a thin substrate is investigated. The experimental data reveals plasmonic modeswhich confined to the edges. The experimental results are verified by means of the finite-differencetime-domain method, which show that the obtained modes are due to the excitation ofwedge-plasmon modes.
