Practical answers for authors and participants preparing for META 2027.
Yes. The META 2027 Call for Papers opened on September 1, 2026. The submission deadline is February 12, 2027. Acceptance decisions are sent progressively from February 19, 2027.
If you request an oral presentation, decisions are communicated in two stages. The first email confirms whether your paper has been accepted. After the program is drafted, a second email announces whether it has been assigned to an oral or poster session.
Submissions are made online through the META Author & Submission Portal. Authors who already have a META account should use their existing account.
Contributed papers are two to four pages; invited contributions, at least one page: both prepared with the official META 2027 template and submitted as PDF. The paper submitted for review is the one published in the proceedings: there is no second, final-paper deadline.
Enter every manuscript author in the form, in the same order as in the PDF. The author list cannot be changed after submission. If the paper is submitted with an incomplete author list, or with authors entered in a different order from the uploaded PDF, submit it again as a new submission and contact the organizers to have the original submission removed.
Yes. Invited presentations must also be formally included in the conference submission system.
Invited contributions use the same template and the same deadline, with a minimum of one page; the Technical Program Committee may accept invited contributions after the deadline.
Yes. One paid registration covers a maximum of two papers for which the registrant is a co-author, whether presented orally or as posters.
META is open to researchers, students, professionals and others interested in the conference program. It is not necessary to present a paper in order to attend.
Yes. META is a community conference: invited speakers, session organizers and session chairs must register and pay the applicable registration fee. The conference does not provide financial support for these roles.
Registration opens in December 2026. Early rates, available until April 23, 2027, are €800 regular, €600 student, €950 industry without a paper, and €260 for an accompanying person. See the registration fee table for Advanced and Late / on-site rates and everything included.
Yes. A limited programme will provide a €200 reduction from the early Regular or Student rate. Priority will be given to students, early-career researchers and participants with limited access to funding.
The programme does not cover travel, accommodation or local expenses. Applications open March 1 and close March 31, 2027. See the eligibility criteria and application instructions.
Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to contact@metaconferences.org. Requests received by May 5, 2027 are refundable less a €65 administrative charge.
After that date, registration fees are non-refundable. A registered participant who cannot attend may nominate a substitute at no additional charge. See the registration page.
META 2027 will be held at the Niagara Falls Convention Centre, Ontario, Canada, from July 13–16, 2027.
Entry requirements depend on nationality and individual circumstances. Participants are responsible for checking the current requirements applicable to them with the relevant Canadian authorities.
META 2027 is registered with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada as a special event. This does not guarantee approval or expedited processing. See the dedicated Visa & Entry Requirements page.
Yes. Invited or registered participants will be able to request a signed invitation letter after their registration and applicable payment have been confirmed.
The IRCC Special Event Code will be provided privately in the letter and will not be published on the website. The request procedure will be available when registration opens.
Official accommodation recommendations and any negotiated conference rates are to be announced.
Important notice: beware of fraudulent housing schemes. META has no official housing partner. Third parties claiming an association with META may be fraudulent. Do not share personal, payment, or credit card information with unsolicited contacts.
Rely only on the official META website and official META email addresses for accommodation information. See the Accommodation page for updates.
META conference proceedings are published under ISSN 2429-1390 and are indexed in Scopus.
The paper you submit for review is the paper that is published: there is no separate final-paper submission. Contributed papers are two to four pages; invited contributions, at least one page; and at least one author must register and present.
Proceedings from previous META editions are available through the META website.
Submissions are expected to represent original work and are subject to scientific review. META screens contributions for plagiarism and duplicate submissions.
