Practical answers for authors and participants preparing for META 2027.
The META 2027 Call for Papers will open on September 1, 2026. The submission deadline is February 12, 2027. Acceptance decisions are sent progressively from February 19, 2027.
If you request an oral presentation, decisions are communicated in two stages. The first email confirms whether your paper has been accepted. After the program is drafted, a second email announces whether it has been assigned to an oral or poster session.
Submissions will be made online through the META Author & Submission Portal. Authors who already have a META account should use their existing account.
Contributed papers are two to four pages; invited contributions, at least one page — both prepared with the official META 2027 template and submitted as PDF. The paper submitted for review is the one published in the proceedings — there is no second, final-paper deadline.
Enter every manuscript author in the form, in the same order as in the PDF. The author list cannot be changed after submission. If the paper is submitted with an incomplete author list, or with authors entered in a different order from the uploaded PDF, submit it again as a new submission and contact the organizers to have the original submission removed.
Yes. Invited presentations must also be formally included in the conference submission system.
Invited contributions use the same template and the same deadline, with a minimum of one page; the Technical Program Committee may accept invited contributions after the deadline.
Yes. One paid registration covers a maximum of two papers for which the registrant is a co-author, whether presented orally or as posters.
META is open to researchers, students, professionals and others interested in the scientific program. It is not necessary to present a paper in order to attend.
Yes. META is a community conference: invited speakers, session organizers and session chairs must register and pay the applicable registration fee. The conference does not provide financial support for these roles.
Registration opens in December 2026 and early registration runs until April 23, 2027. Fees and categories will be published when registration opens; this website is the authoritative source.
The META 2027 support program is to be announced.
Previous editions have offered a limited number of reduced registrations, with priority given to students, early-career researchers and participants with limited access to funding. Travel and local expenses were not directly funded by the conference.
META 2027 will be held at the Niagara Falls Convention Centre, Ontario, Canada, from July 13–16, 2027.
Entry requirements depend on nationality and individual circumstances. Participants are responsible for checking the current requirements applicable to them with the relevant Canadian authorities.

In previous editions, registered participants were able to request supporting visa documentation through the conference registration process.
Official accommodation recommendations and any negotiated conference rates are to be announced.
Important notice — beware of fraudulent housing schemes. META has no official housing partner. Third parties claiming an association with META may be fraudulent. Do not share personal, payment, or credit card information with unsolicited contacts.

META conference proceedings are published under ISSN 2429-1390 and are indexed in Scopus.
The paper you submit for review is the paper that is published: there is no separate final-paper submission. Contributed papers are two to four pages; invited contributions, at least one page; and at least one author must register and present.
Proceedings from previous META editions are available through the META website.
Submissions are expected to represent original work and are subject to scientific review. META screens contributions for plagiarism and duplicate submissions.
